This Privacy Policy explains how Fuel Smart PH ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Fuel Smart mobile application (the "App").

By using the App, you understand that we will collect and use information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account and Profile Information

• Information you provide during sign‑in or account setup (e.g., name, email, unique user identifier from authentication).
• Optional profile details you choose to provide (e.g., display name).
• Optional tip/donation contact details (e.g., eWallet numbers) if you choose to add them.

1.2 Location Information

• Approximate or precise location (if you grant permission) to show nearby stations, calculate distances/radius filters, and assist with location-based contributions.
• Coordinates you submit when reporting a station location or a station problem.

1.3 Contribution and Activity Information

• Price updates, station reports, verifications, votes, and problem reports you submit.
• Timestamps and metadata associated with contributions (e.g., station identifier, fuel type/subtype, and related context).
• Your contributions may be reviewed, verified, aggregated, edited, or otherwise processed and may become part of our proprietary dataset and displayed information generated from crowdsourced inputs (the "Produced Work").

1.4 Device and Usage Information

• Device identifiers and technical information (e.g., device model, OS version, app version, language, time zone).
• Log data such as IP address (where available), crash reports, and performance diagnostics.
• Interaction and usage signals (e.g., screens viewed, feature usage) to improve reliability and user experience.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide and operate the App (e.g., display stations, prices, forecasts, favorites, and calculators).
• Acquire, maintain, verify, and improve the accuracy and quality of displayed data (including crowdsourced station and price information).
• Create and maintain the App’s processed/verified outputs and compiled dataset from crowdsourced inputs (Produced Work).
• Enable community features such as attribution of contributions (subject to your privacy settings).
• Allow you to choose anonymity by hiding your name and/or tip contact details from other users.
• Monitor contributions and detect, prevent, or investigate incorrect reports, abuse, exploitation attempts, fraud, or security incidents.
• Communicate with you about important updates, security notices, or support requests.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms and policies.

3. Contributor Display and Anonymity

The App may show contributor attribution on certain data (for example, who last updated a station price). You can control whether your real name is displayed and whether tip/donation contact details (such as eWallet numbers) are shown.

You have the right to stay anonymous: you may choose not to display your name and you may choose not to provide or display any tip/donation contact details.

4. Ownership of Produced Work

As between you and Fuel Smart PH, any crowdsourced contribution you submit through the App, and any verified, aggregated, edited, or otherwise processed information generated from crowdsourced inputs (Produced Work), may be incorporated into our proprietary database and is owned by Fuel Smart PH.

5. Sharing and Disclosure

We may share information in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: vendors who help us operate the App (e.g., authentication, hosting, database, analytics, crash reporting, and map services). They are permitted to process information only for providing services to us.
• Community display: limited information may be displayed to other users based on your privacy settings (e.g., contributor display name or an anonymous label).
• Legal and safety: if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security of users, the public, or the App.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets (with appropriate safeguards).

6. Enforcement Actions

To protect the community and the integrity of the data, we may restrict features, suspend, or terminate accounts that repeatedly submit incorrect or abusive reports, attempt to exploit the App, or otherwise try to break or misuse the system.

7. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the App, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain platform integrity.

Contribution records may be retained to preserve the history and reliability of crowdsourced data. Where feasible, we will de-identify or aggregate information when it is no longer needed in identifiable form.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Choices and Rights

You can manage certain privacy settings within the App, including contributor display preferences and whether tip/donation contact details are visible.

You may request to delete your account using the in‑app account deletion feature. Account deletion may remove or anonymize certain profile information, subject to legal and operational requirements.

You can typically control device permissions (such as location) through your mobile operating system settings.

10. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate steps.

11. International Transfers

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, depending on where our service providers operate. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place when required.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy in the App and update the effective date. Your continued use of the App after the update means you understand the updated policy.
